It is a well established fact that women gain weight after marriage. You might have noticed a girl in her teens to be very slim and pretty a few years ago and today you see her so plump and fat that you may not even recognise her at first sight.
Most women gain an averege of 10-15 kilograms (22-33 pounds) over a period of 3-5 years. Many studies have confirmed these beliefs through research.
In a recent issue of the journal Obesity (Obesity (2009) 17 12, 2223–2231. doi:10.1038/oby.2009.64). Researchers have confirmed that: married men and women gain more weight then those who are unmarried. They carried out this study on 3947 women and 4019 men.
According to experts, change in lifestyles after marriage is the culprit. People try to relax and take life easy after marriage. For some women the competition of academic life is over and they are mentaly relaxed. Due to the mental relaxation they want to reward themselves in terms of partying, eating, and more particularly overeating without worrying about weight gain.
